SUPPORTING OUR OWN

What the Post Service Officer Can Do For You

Although not a fully accredited Veteran Service Officer because of VA rules and regulations, and cannot directly file disability claims for the Veteran, the Post Service Officer is familiar with Veterans’ needs regarding disability claims and other matters, and can guide the Veteran to the proper accredited VSO that will assist the Veteran in the filing of their claim.

Once the Post Service Officer gets the Veteran together with the accredited VSO, the VSO will help file the claim, will monitor the claim, and will assist with any supplemental matters related to the claim. All of this is at NO CHARGE to the Veteran.

The Post Service Officer can also help guide the Veteran through the process of registering for the Veterans Administration Health Care System, as well as with various other Veterans benefits. The bottom line is that if you have a question regarding Veteran benefits, the Post Service Officer can help you find the answer.
